Portable Fiberglass ShelterCase Study
Truck Mounted Fiberglass Shelter Goes Anywhere
Not every building we manufacture is stationary. In Rawlins, Wyoming there is a geological survey truck driving around with a 5x5x5 Shelter Works enclosure affixed to its back. We were approached by AMS Sampling Equipment Inc., in American Falls, ID, a provider and manufacturer of equipment used for environmental and geotechnical sampling. to produce a fiberglass enclosure to be used as an option for an existing piece of their equipment. The mini-building, attached to the truck bed between the cab and the sampling equipment, allows field technicians to have a lighted, heated mobile office in the field.
Customizations to this unique shelter include a 56" x 34" door, a 3' x 3' slider window, an FRP encapsulated wood floor, and a 12" deep fiberglass shelf. The shelter arrived equipped with a weatherproof electrical and lighting package, adjustable vents with rain hoods, and a wall heater. The custom design of the shelter allows for natural light to be supplemented by electrical illumination when needed. The enclosure provides AMS Inc’s customers with a low-maintenance, durable, insulated workstation to protect them from the elements while working in the field; because your most critical field equipment is your technician.
Irvan McLean, a Technical Support & Sales Rep for AMS Inc., described the experience of purchasing a Shelter Works fiberglass building as “Perfect”. From placing the order to working with the engineers and arranging delivery. The ease of the whole experience exceeded his expectations and he was pleased with the final product. If given the opportunity, he would be happy to work with Shelter Works again.
