Electrical Systems To Meet Every Need

Whether its explosion proofing, lack of electricity or a desire for energy efficiency, here at Shelter Works, we offer several interior and exterior lighting options to meet your needs. Our skilled electricians can install all types of electrical and HVAC components

Interior Lighting

For interior lighting we offer fixtures and lamps for:
  • fluorescent
  • incandescent
  • LED lighting
Our fluorescent lights with T8 ballasts have gasketed lens covers that clamp on tight, providing a vapor-proof and corrosion resistant fixture that is able to stand up to some of the harshest environments.
Note: Fluorescent lights are generally not used in radio frequency sensitive applications because they can cause interference.

Exterior Lighting

Exterior lighting is used when nighttime visibility or security is needed, and Shelter Works provides three different options to suit specific client needs:
  1. Some of our customers prefer the constant illumination provided by photocell lighting
  2. Others choose the more energy-efficient motion sensor lighting that only turns on when activity around the structure is detected
  3. Others prefer an exterior switch.

Explosion-Proof Options

Shelter Works buildings are used for many applications, some of which require explosion proof electrical packages. When a room is going to contain gases or just there will be gases present in the room that could be ignited by a spark, you want to make sure there’s an explosion-proof electrical package in your enclosure. Shelter Works Electricians are trained in explosion proof and hazardous location applications, so let us know what kind of hazard you have in your application. We’ll design a system that will work specifically for that hazard.

Battery Backup

We also offer two types of battery powered back-up lighting; emergency and stand-by.  In a sudden power outage, emergency lights instantly provide 54 watts of incandescent illumination for 90 minutes.  Wired differently, stand-by lights can be controlled by a switch which reserves the battery power until it is needed. That way your 90 minutes begin once the light switch is turned on.  This is especially handy when repairs can’t begin immediately.
