Corrosion Resistance Custom Formulations for Enhanced Corrosion Resistance

Weather, pollution, and chemicals can cause corrosion and rot in metal and stick-built buildings.  Shelter Works fiberglass enclosures will not rust, rot, corrode, or decay. They are custom manufactured to withstand the rigors of the environment as well as exposure to chemicals like chlorine, sodium bisulfite, and sodium hypochlorite often used in water and wastewater treatment.

Our shelters often have to perform in very difficult environments. Our standard gel coat and resin provide excellent chemical and water resistance, but for applications with more corrosive chemical exposure, the resin is upgraded to a vinylester formulated to stand up to a wider range of stresses.

Getting The Details

In order to know what type of resin is best for an application, it's best to know:

  • If the chemical is in direct contact with the building.
  • If the exposure will be intermittent or prolonged.
  • If the chemical will be in gas or liquid form.
  • What will be the concentration of the chemical (measured in parts per million, or %)?
  • What will be the maximum temperature in the building?

Our Sales Engineers can design a fiberglass building to the specifications as well as a job's unique requirements. This attention to detail ensures low-maintenance, long-lasting structures that will protect equipment even in the harshest environments.
