Shelter Works Manager of Sales Administration Job Description

Shelter Works is looking for a strategically-minded, results-oriented Manager of Sales Administration to help us meet customer acquisition, retention and revenue growth targets, developing key growth sales strategies, as well as ensuring successful execution of those strategies. The ideal candidate will be aligned with the company’s standards of integrity, industriousness and competence.  He/she must be able to think strategically so as to plan, organize and lead the sales process to achieve the desired results. In addition, this Manager of Sales Administration will have primary channel-management-level responsibility for the sales activities of the Water & Waste Water industries.

Our Manager of Sales Administration will:

  • Set direction for annual growth strategies by understanding industry trends, emerging markets, changing economic factors, competitive landscape and current and future company capabilities

  • Direct sales outreach efforts such as attendance at trade shows, hosting lunch ‘n learn presentations, and supporting/coaching/recruiting our network of manufacturer’s representatives nationwide

  • Monitor and report on performance of all those involved in sales process, from initial contact and requests for quotes, through purchase order activities and final delivery to ensure that we are reaching our annual targets and creating the type of customer experience Shelter Works is known for

  • Lead sales team in nurturing strong, long-lasting, productive relationships with our rep network, OEM clients and direct customers by partnering with them and understanding their needs

  • Guide product pricing as well as future product innovation and development based on customer, market and industry expertise

  • Generate, review and communicate sales information company-wide, as well as recommending shifts in activity as a result of this information. This would include tracking sales performance against revenue goals, quoting activity, sales & marketing budgets, and sales and production forecasts

  • Partner with marketing to effectively communicate the company’s value proposition to multiple constituencies

  • Lead sales efforts in Water & Waste Water industries, building and maintaining strong account-level relationships and developing category-specific expertise and expansion opportunities within this industry

  • Work with internal Sales Engineer and other team members to ensure excellence from quoting to final delivery for customers in the Water & Waste Water industries

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse, complex, yet ultimately totally customer-focused sales team, meeting or exceeding targets while creating a positive culture for both customers and employees alike
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation, negotiation, listening and timely follow-up
  • Proven agility in client communications throughout the sales process, from initial strategic planning to articulation of compelling sales messaging and product positioning right through to the final delivery of the product
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to gather and digest relevant information, analyze and develop alternative solutions to meet diverse needs
  • Exceptional mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Business savvy and industry expertise desired
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, QuickBooks and ACT!
  • BA/BS or equivalent
