Our Reputation is Built on Our Process

From quotation to delivery – and far beyond – we’re committed to providing the highest quality product and the most rewarding customer experience possible. Here’s an overview of the Shelter Works experience that you can expect:

Step 1: Needs Analysis & FastQuote

Every project has unique requirements, so we always review your needs and goals carefully so that we can offer a solution that will meet your needs. Once we are clear on your needs we provide you with a detailed quote, usually within 24 hours. That’s fast!!!

Step 2: Design & Submittal

Our designers will work from your drawing, create a shelter to fit a site plan or preexisting foundation, or draft a plan based on a rough idea of your needs and specifications. Our 3-D SolidWorks or AutoCad files are easily incorporated into engineers’ design plans. We provide cut sheets with detailed images of the component parts as part of our submittal package. Plus, for a modest fee, Shelter Works will furnish engineered drawings – complete with the state seal and signature, ready for permit approval submission.

Step 3: Project Review

Upon completion of the design and submittal phase, we review the project plans with you based on your needs analysis. At that time, we’ll present any additional recommendations that arise from existing conditions, the design intent, or selected products. We’ll also incorporate any of your required changes. Whenever possible, we provide photos of previously completed projects for first hand product evaluation, or even conduct field visits of nearby installations, if needed.

Step 4: Manufacturing & Delivery

Our skilled craftsmen carefully hand-build each shelter in our new, state-of-the-art facility. And to insure quality control and the availability of replacement parts, we manufacture our own standard components, including doors.
Manufacturing and assembly is carefully monitored to ensure the finest quality product, and after the shelter is complete and receives its final quality inspection, it is shipped fully assembled.
Once we receive your purchase order, our friendly office staff will coordinate with you to estimate as accurately as possible the date and time of delivery. You’ll even get the phone number for the driver!

Step 5: The Shelter Works “Built for Life” Warranty

The final step in our production process is how we back it up:

  • We offer a twenty-five year warranty– and longer warranties are available upon request
  • Your shelter’s Operations Manual contains our Written Warranty plus the warranties from the manufacturers of any electrical and HVAC components, submittals, and a contact sheet for future reference.
