If it’s not one extreme it’s another. From tropical hurricanes to ice storms, Shelter Works buildings have proven time and again that they can stand up to icy conditions and their repercussions. In one instance, we had a shelter that stood strong after a tree fell on it due to heavy ice.

Shelter Works buildings have proven time and again that they can stand up to icy conditions and their repercussions. In one instance, we had a shelter that stood strong after a tree fell on it due to heavy ice.

Temperature extremes can pose job site problems when your critical field equipment requires certain temperatures for operation. Many times the equipment housed in the shelters generates enough heat to keep the temperatures at working levels. We’ve even had some customers tell us that a small heater or an incandescent light bulb is enough to keep the shelter warm. However, when temperature is an issue there are many ways to customize a shelter to meet your needs. We recently shipped 3 buildings with 6″ walls, an R-Value of 39, to North Eastern Ontario. We can also provide heaters and air conditioners to fit your project’s needs.

Some climates are known for their wet and damp conditions. Again, this is not a problem. Our standard rigid polyiso panel foam core has received the Greenguard Environmental Institute’s highest rating of 4, which means it’s highly resistant to mold growth. Combine that with fiberglass, a material commonly used for making boats, and you have the perfect combination for a high quality, zero maintenance fiberglass building to protect your most critical field equipment.
